Introduced to the harp by his late wife, Margaret, Derek is a keen supporter of everything to do with the harp, and a great sounding board for new ideas.

Bringing the experience of being an adult learner and the mum of a talented harpist, Raewynn also brings her research training and admin skills to the team.

Harps Aotearoa Foundation was formed as a charitable trust in May 2022 as the umbrella to oversee the administration of Harp Fest NZ 2023
and The New Zealand Harp Performance Competition.
Harps Aotearoa Foundation also manages hire harps for visiting harpists and beginner student pedal and lever harpists.
